POLYETHYLENE FOAM ROLLER
Foam rollers are used in various functional and holistic fitness activities aimed at well-being, such as Pilates, yoga, muscle recovery, joint mobility improvement, and injury prevention. By enhancing flexibility and joint mobility, they are useful for stretching exercises targeting major muscle groups (legs, back, shoulders), myofascial release, and reducing tension and muscle contractures. They promote recovery after workouts, partly due to improved blood circulation from self-massage.
Foam rollers can be incorporated into yoga and Pilates routines to improve balance, posture, and stability or, conversely, to be used as destabilizing supports. They are also widely applied in specific disciplines such as running, cycling, swimming, and weightlifting to prevent muscle stiffness and improve performance.
Foam rollers are made with two types of foam: Polyethylene, which is more economical, and EVA (code 2503/1), a more refined and premium material with an exceptionally regular elastic coefficient.
The current 2504 Gray Polyethylene Foam Roller has been recently redesigned. It uses a polyethylene material almost identical to the previous blue model but features an innovative double-cylinder structure that makes it more resistant and ensures more consistent performance over time.
Compared to the older blue foam rollers, especially those used for a long time, this new foam roller may initially feel stiffer. This difference is mainly due to the wear experienced by used rollers, which tend to soften over time.
Specifically, polyethylene rollers soften for the following reasons:
- Continuous compression: frequent use compresses the material, gradually reducing its initial stiffness.
- Structural degradation: over time, wear alters the cellular structure, contributing to natural softening.
- External factors: environmental conditions such as heat and humidity can accelerate this process.
Thanks to its improved structure, the new 2504 Polyethylene Foam Roller will soften with use but provide greater stability over time. Its quality and durability make it less prone to flattening or deforming compared to previous models.
Dimensions: length 1000 mm, diameter 150 mm
