FAST COMPLEX TRAINING - Strength and conditioning workout for athletes The acronym for Functional Alpine Ski Training refers to a training method specifically designed for athletic training in Alpine skiing. Skiing is a complex, technical, combinatorial, situational sport, the execution of which is subject to numerous variables characterised, from an athletic point of view, by high muscular tension (more than 3 g of acceleration in bends, corresponding to more than 300 kg) and a high degree of joint mobility, although it is carried out in a standardised way. For this reason, the FAST KIT consists of equipment that involves strength exercises characterised by destabilisation and full range of movement, hence coordination and joint stabilisation capacity. The goal of this strength-conditioning work is to improve all the specific neural and metabolic abilities of the athlete starting from strength in all its components: maximum strength, explosive strength (power), elastic-reflex strength, resistant strength. KIT:
  • 9012/3 LOW HEX BAR  (click HERE for the video) This is the central piece of equipment in the method. It enables strength training with deep squats, dynamic and destabilising multiplanar exercises.
  • 8054 FLOW-Bag  (click HERE for the video) The water moves inside the bag. This tool completes the work done with the Low Hex Bar in terms of proprioception, reactivity and general strength. Being equipped with different grips, it allows the performance of both traditional movements: deadlift, squat, etc. and ballistic movements: swing, snatch, etc., increasing coordination between the hips and shoulders, as well as the overall stability of the body in the multi-planar movements.
  • 0606 Hip band Elastic  (click HERE for the video) ring band used as a complementary tool in hip flexion and extension exercises, especially squats, in order to achieve greater activation of the gluteus minimus and the tensors of the fascia lata.
  • 9040/30W Rubber Wagon Wheel complete Bumper Plate  (click HERE for the video) with compact barbell 9014 and collars 9016/1.The deadlift set with giant 66 cm diameter bumpers is the other basic equipment of the method. Raises from the ground are not only an essential multi-joint strength training, but, as they mainly involve the posterior chain, they complete the training of the muscular system involved in stabilising the knee. In alpine skiing, the knee joint is subjected to very high tensions, which can be counteracted by specific preparation aimed at guaranteeing strength and balance between the muscles involved.
  • 9123 Ghd & Sissy Squat - Hamstring Bench  (click HERE for the video) Two tools in one: Hamstring Bench and Sissy Squat. The Sissy Squat, performed using a bench, is an exercise for training the quadriceps that reproduces the condition of load retraction that can occur during skiing. The Hamstring Bench (Nordic Norwegian Curl) is effective in training part of the posterior muscle chain (ischio-crural muscles, trunk muscles) mainly through eccentric (slowing down the load) and isometric (stopping the load) contraction exercises. The 9123 bench, combined with the fundamental exercise of the pulldown, makes it practical to train all types of muscle contraction (isometric, concentric, eccentric) and therefore all the components of strength production.
  • 9013/1 GHR - Glute Hamstring AB Roller  (click HERE for the video) Multifunctional tool included in the FAST Kit to be integrated with the Nordic Hamstrings Curl performed on the 9123 bench. Unlike the bench, the Roller allows you to achieve maximum lengthening and shortening of the ischio-crural muscles in a relatively easy and dynamic manner. The training is useful in sports, such as alpine skiing, which are characterised by maximum strength expressions (speed and strength).
