We manufacture different models of hexagonal barbells, also known as Trap Bars or Quadra Bars:
The Low Hex Bar 9012/3 represents a significant evolution in hexagonal barbell design, developed to meet specific technical needs in physical training. Its design was registered by us at the end of 2021, following research conducted within the FAST (Functional Alpine Ski Training) method, a training system specifically designed for alpine skiing athletic preparation.
The term “functional” highlights the effectiveness of global training, where movements are not isolated but trained as a whole to develop motor skills comprehensively. For this reason, both exercises and equipment are designed to stimulate the neuromuscular, skeletal, and joint systems, requiring good mobility and a solid understanding of movement for correct use.
Hex Bars are widely used in athletic preparation because, compared to traditional barbells, they offer ease of use (no need for supports or racks), with significant advantages in terms of safety and practicality. The presence of handles, the centered load relative to the body axis, and greater freedom of movement contribute to a simpler exercise mechanics. This is particularly beneficial for beginners, individuals with motor impairments, or those in post-injury rehabilitation, making squats and deadlifts easier to perform. Based on these premises, we developed a one-of-a-kind Quadra Bar that allows maximum freedom of movement across all planes (sagittal, frontal, and transverse), facilitating deep lunges and squats and approaching common sticking points.
A key innovation is the horizontal positioning of the weight plates, which results in a bar with handles extremely close to the ground, hence the name Low Hex Bar. This feature makes loading and unloading weights extremely practical, particularly useful in pyramidal training.
The open structure—where the hexagon loses one side, becoming a half-moon—completes the transformation of the Hex Bar into this new tool, which retains only the original concept of the hexagonal bar.
Another key evolution is the use of rubberized ergonomic handles, which enhance control and directionality during high-dynamic multiplanar exercises. However, due to their 45° positioning, the bar also becomes more destabilizing, requiring continuous proprioceptive adaptations and a greater neuromuscular engagement.
The Importance of Proprioception in Physical Training
Proprioception is a crucial aspect of athletic preparation, as it involves the neuromuscular system’s ability to perceive and control the body’s position in space, improving balance, joint stability, and motor coordination.
A high level of proprioceptive activation is essential to optimize movement control, both in static and high-intensity dynamic exercises.
In sports practice, well-calibrated proprioceptive training with appropriate overloads is fundamental to maximize its effectiveness. Too often, training protocols are seen where the load is inadequate relative to the power expressed in the reference sport, reducing the neuromuscular adaptation transfer to actual performance.
A properly structured proprioceptive training program is crucial for injury prevention and performance enhancement, especially in sports requiring reactivity, dynamic stability, and continuous adaptations to external stimuli, such as alpine skiing, basketball, soccer, and martial arts, to name a few.
Training tools like the Low Hex Bar enhance proprioceptive engagement, turning each exercise into both a strength workout and a powerful neuromuscular and joint stimulus.
Due to its unique configuration, the Low Hex Bar increases motor control in controlled instability conditions, a key aspect for transferring trained abilities to real sports performance.
Technical Specifications
The 9012/3 Low Hex Bar is made from a 50 mm diameter tubular frame and is fully coated with a durable dark gray textured paint.
The sleeves have a 50 mm diameter and a 300 mm length, providing ample loading capacity and compatibility with all 50 mm hole weight plates.
The horizontal placement of the plates eliminates the need for Bumper Plates, allowing the use of smaller diameter plates, such as Fractional Plates, or coated plates like PU Plates or Rubber Plates, resulting in significant cost savings.
Additionally, the Low Hex Bar features sturdy rubber feet for a secure, slightly cushioned, and silent support.
Latest Model Updates
The current model differs from the 2022 version (code 9012/3v) due to its chrome-plated sleeves, which allow integration with the Hamstring Bar 9012/3B and the use of collars 9016/1, essential for Jump Squats.
When combined with the Hamstring Bar 9012/3B and collars 9016/1, the Low Hex Bar transforms into an exceptionally effective training station, designed to maximize athletic preparation by improving:
- Knee joint stabilization
- Posterior chain strengthening
- Anterior chain development
All while offering a high level of safety, efficiency, and biomechanical advantage.

BARBELL WEIGHTLIFTING/POWERLIFTING
We offer a wide range of barbells that can be classified into three categories: Olympic, hybrid, and specialist.Olympic
Olympic weightlifting barbells built according to IWF standards. At the top of the line, we find the two PREMIUM models with black chromed bars: the Premium Male Olympic Barbell code 9015/4 and the Premium Female Olympic Barbell code 9015/5. These Olympic barbells, made in stainless steel with high tensile strength values, feature the best construction techniques in order to perform snatch and press exercises, and to support droppings on the platform. Just like all our Olympic barbells, the knurling is medium, suitable for training, especially in terms of the health of the hand. The offer of Olympic barbell is completed by the Training version: the Male Olympic Barbell code 9015/8. This barbell is designed to obtain the best possible solution between requirements of use, construction quality, and production costs. Having lower performance features, the technical data sheet of this barbell also shows the maximum loads per type of exercise.Hybrids
In this category, we find two barbells: the Training Barbell 185 code 9015/3 and the Training Barbell 140 code 9014. This line of barbells offers the essential features of the Olympic ones, differing from them in their overall length, respectively 185 and 140 cm. This difference is useful both in terms of overall dimensions and in terms of training, as these barbells, thanks to the reduced length of the bar, are incredibly versatile and high performing. In particular, the Training Barbell 140 is recommended for the execution of the Hip Thrust exercise, as the reduced length can help handling the barbell on the hips during the performance.Specialists
This category includes many barbells, because each one is created in response to specific technical needs of training and use.
- The Powerlifting Barbell code 9015: it is an atypical Olympic barbell with a bar diameter of 32 mm instead of the traditional 28 mm.
- 9015/2 COMPETITION POWERLIFT BARBELL 29 mm: designed based on the technical rules set out by the IPF it is characterized by the high construction quality.
- The Axle Bar code 9015/7: barbell with a very thick bar, diameter 51 mm, suitable for athletic preparation programs and to strengthen the grip.
- The Lightweight Aluminum Barbell code 9014/1 and the Lightweight Intro Barbell code 9015/1: these are two light barbells, ideal for learning weightlifting techniques for exercises such as snatch and press. The second one in particular represents an economical solution useful also to train and teach counting with more barbells in the setting of group lessons.
- The EZ Barbell code 9027 and the EZ Barbell Premium code 9027P: classic curled barbells for biceps training. Effective and sharp the first one, while the second one comes with pads and superior finishing.
- The Safety Squat Barbell code 9011/1: a bar with shoulder support pads, useful in overcoming certain limitations determined by joint mobility that would impair the ability to perform squats properly. In terms of training variation, it should be mentioned that a higher control on the weight load has a positive effect on the versatility of the tool. Leading to better execution of lunges, single-leg exercises, Bulgarian squat, step up.
- The Preloaded Barbells code 8710-8745EZ Preloaded Barbells code 8610-8645: two sets of 10-45 kg preloaded barbells, consisting of 10 barbells per set. A classic of the physical culture because the preloaded barbells allow the maximum ease of use, especially in the climbing series, in the supersets and all similar techniques with no breaks between exercise series.
- The Triceps Bar code 9027/1: is a one-of-a-kind barbell, created for triceps training, and offers the possibility to make alternative grips compared to traditional barbells.
- The Olympic Hex Bar code 9012, the Super Hex Bar code 9012/1,the Low Hex Bar 9012/3: these are three original versions of the hexagonal barbell or trap bar. The first is a classical hex bar, on which we introduced several functional innovations and with long load sleeves, also suitable for wide bumper plates. The second one is an evolution born in the first place from the need to make the loading of weight plates easier (the loadable sleeves are placed in a raised position compared to the hexagonal base). The third is a quadra bar sui generis that allows a high level of freedom of movement in all motion planes, with particular reference to the depth of lunges and squats.
- The Farmer Walk Bars code 9026: born for walking with weights in hand, they have turned out to be practical multi-purpose bars. with a 28 mm handle and reduced dimensions.
- 9011/2 Seal Row Barbell: Barbell specifically designed for the 9021 SEAL ROW BENCH
