Recycled Rubber Granules
The excellent impact absorption, superior comfort during floor exercises, and outstanding grip—even in the presence of sweat—are the direct result of the ultra-fine recycled rubber granule composition. In addition to giving new life to recycled material, this manufacturing process also helps reduce production costs.
When the flooring is installed to protect an existing floor, its impact-absorbing capability should be properly evaluated. A few millimeters of rubber cannot completely absorb every impact. The force generated by dropping a heavily loaded barbell will always be partially transferred to the underlying floor.
Single-Layer Construction – Ultra-Fine Granules
The use of premium-quality ultra-fine rubber granules produces a compact, stable, durable, and comfortable single-layer tile. Compared to dual-layer tiles, this construction is also more cost-effective because it eliminates the need to manufacture and bond two separate rubber layers.
The ultra-fine rubber granules are distinguished by their exceptional purity, achieved through an advanced processing method that removes stones and other non-rubber contaminants. This results in a homogeneous, high-quality compound that is essential for manufacturing precise, defect-free tiles.
Single-Color Straight Edge with Bevel
The EcoGym Floor 9201S sets the benchmark for single-color recycled rubber tiles with straight edges. Beyond the use of premium ultra-fine rubber granules with minimal impurities, its superior manufacturing quality is achieved through meticulous finishing and rigorous quality control.
High-precision molds, regular mold maintenance, accurate temperature control, and precise adhesive dosing ensure tight dimensional tolerances and minimal cosmetic imperfections.
In technical terminology, the angled edge on all four sides of the tile is known as a bevel. This finish creates an inclined edge that minimizes the visibility of joints between adjacent tiles after installation.
When straight-edge rubber tiles are installed, thermal expansion and contraction of the rubber, together with normal sports use, can inevitably create small gaps between tiles, particularly if they are installed without adhesive or perimeter double-sided tape. Although the bevel helps reduce the visual impact of these joints, it cannot completely eliminate them. The most effective way to minimize gaps is through careful and accurate installation.
Additional EcoGym Features
EcoGym flooring is manufactured without the use of hazardous substances in accordance with EEC Directive 76/769, and without formaldehyde-based adhesives in compliance with EN 717-1.
Each tile measures 1000 × 1000 mm.
As a general guideline, to calculate the number of tiles required, add approximately 20% to the total floor area in square meters. For example:
30 m² + 20% = 36 tiles
Cleaning and Maintenance
Routine cleaning requires only vacuuming followed by washing with water and a small amount of detergent.
White marks or dust deposits may occasionally appear in particularly dusty environments. In these cases, a sponge floor mop is generally sufficient.
For installations larger than 150 m², we recommend using a floor scrubber with rotating brushes capable of washing the surface while simultaneously collecting the dirty water.
