Pilates Ball Training
The Pilates Balls allow you to create variations in a Pilates lesson, as through the use of a small load it is possible to achieve benefits in terms of muscle recovery and to intensify the exercises. A roll-up, for example, becomes more intense if you support a ball with the hands. Also, performing spine twists while keeping a ball for each hand becomes more challenging both for the shoulders and the diagonal lines that support the action.
A Pilates Ball can also be used as support to be maintained under the sacrum or the occipital area, to keep correct positions in the supine and lateral decubitus. The balls also have a destabilizing effect: if you perform the bird dog extension exercise, which is the stretching of the leg and the opposite arm from a quadruped position, while holding the 0,5 Kg Pilates Ball, you create a greater tension to the core, in a really effective way.
