We produce different models of Steps and Plyoboxes: Step and Plyobox category.
The new 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1 joins the range of 3-in-1 plyoboxes, i.e., plyometric boxes that can be used at three different heights, standing alongside the other models in the series with a specific technical proposal. Compared to the more essential 9111, made of wood, and the 9112, characterized by a high-safety padded structure, the 9116 Foam Plyobox represents a particularly effective synthesis of functionality, intrinsic safety, lightness, and practicality. This result is mainly due to two elements: on one hand, the use of expanded polypropylene (EPP), and on the other, the presence of an internal lattice structure and rounded edges, both solutions for which Sidea has filed a patent application.
Expanded polypropylene – EPP is a technical thermoplastic foam characterized by a particularly favorable ratio between low weight and mechanical resistance. It is a material known for its ability to absorb energy, its resilience, and its capacity to return to its original shape after compression or moderate impact. These characteristics make EPP particularly suitable for creating a plyometric box intended for dynamic use, where it is important to combine structural resistance, contact comfort, and ease of handling.
In the case of the 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1, the lightness of the EPP is one of the product’s main strengths. The plyobox is indeed particularly easy to move and reposition, also thanks to the integrated handles, a feature that facilitates its use both in functional training areas and in traditional weight rooms, where quick setup and operational practicality are a concrete advantage. The ease of handling the plyometric box also simplifies space management and work organization in contexts where equipment is frequently repositioned.
Alongside its lightness, EPP offers another significant advantage: the ability to absorb shocks and provide a less rigid response compared to traditional construction materials. While maintaining high resistance, the material helps to make contact more comfortable, an aspect that is particularly important in all those situations where the plyobox is not used exclusively as a jumping station, but also as a 3-in-1 step, support base, or for various other exercises. In addition, there are other qualities of EPP, such as durability, chemical inertia, hygiene, non-toxicity, and recyclability, characteristics that also enhance its appeal in terms of management and long-term durability.
The compression resistance of the 9116 is entrusted to a patent-pending internal lattice structure by Sidea, designed to promote uniform load distribution and contribute to the box’s stability during use. The presence of the internal lattice is a particularly relevant technical element because it allows the structure to be lightened without compromising its mechanical behavior. In this way, the EPP plyobox maintains high handling practicality while offering solidity and reliability during use.
A further distinctive element is the construction profile with rounded edges and corners, for which Sidea has also filed a patent application. The rounding of the edges helps to increase the safety of the equipment, reducing the criticality of accidental impact and making the box suitable even for intensive use contexts. In a plyometric box intended for dynamic exercises, where speed of execution and close interaction with the equipment are frequent, this aspect has a concrete value both in terms of safety and perceived comfort.
Structurally resistant and stable, the 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1 therefore maintains a more comfortable response to contact compared to traditional plyoboxes, offering a particularly effective balance between mechanical performance, energy absorption, and practicality. The 3-in-1 configuration allows the box to be used at three different heights – 50, 60, and 75 cm – simply by changing its orientation, thus expanding its application versatility.
The 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1 can be used for plyometric exercises, for exercises that require a step or a support base, as well as a support to facilitate access to elevated structures, such as pull-up bars or rings. It is precisely this plurality of uses, combined with the lightness of the material, the ease of movement, the internal lattice structure, and the rounded profiles, that makes the 9116 an advanced technical solution within the Sidea range dedicated to plyoboxes, and 3-in-1 steps for functional training and physical preparation.

High-End Professional Steps and Plyoboxes
Sidea offers one of the most complete ranges of professional steps, plyoboxes, and decks dedicated to fitness, aerobics, and functional training. The category includes a technical selection of equipment developed to meet different needs in terms of stability, safety, practicality, and application variety, with solutions dedicated to both fitness and aerobics classes, as well as athletic preparation and functional work.
In the step sector, the 0235 Premium Step represents the high-end reference for choreographed aerobics: a professional step characterized by large dimensions, high stability, robust construction, lack of sharp edges, and superior quality finishes. Alongside this model are the 0212W SiStep and 0230 AeroStep, professional-level solutions that stand out for their generous dimensions, solidity, and manufacturing accuracy, offering a technical alternative for different usage contexts. The proposal is completed with the 0231/2 Mini AeroStep, a more compact version designed for specific applications and for greater handling needs.
Also within the same category is the 0239 Ecofit Step, a solution designed to combine functionality, lightness, and space optimization. Made from recycled polyethylene, it is an ecological step designed to reduce waste, characterized by ease of transport, interlocking stackability, and space optimization. For these characteristics, it is also particularly suitable for large events and high-turnover contexts.
The Sidea Plyobox range is equally articulated and covers different plyometric work needs. The 9105-9107 Soft Impact Plyoboxes, available in multiple heights, are large parallelepipeds made of high-density polyurethane covered in PVC, equipped with handles and connecting flaps. Their structure ensures stability and helps to reduce the impact in case of accidental collisions, making them particularly suitable for functional training and athletic preparation.
These are complemented by the 3-in-1 plyoboxes, which can be oriented on different sides to obtain multiple working heights. The 9111 Wooden Plyobox 3 in 1, made of wood, represents an essential and stable solution; the 9112 Soft Plyobox 3 in 1, with a padded structure and PVC cover, is designed to increase safety during use. The 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1 fits into this range as an advanced technical solution, offering a particularly effective balance between functionality, intrinsic safety, lightness, and practicality.
The category also includes support surfaces and stands for specific exercises. The 9121 Split Squat Roller – Stand is a compact, self-supporting, and stable solution for single-leg exercises like Bulgarian split squats and lunges. The 9024 Functional Bench is a professional, robust, and versatile functional bench, suitable for multiple exercises, including lifts, hip thrusts, and abdominal work. Finally, the 4148 Seat Jump Deck represents a multifunctional solution that combines use as a seat, step, or plyobox, expanding the possibilities of use in functional training and strength and conditioning.
