The EVA Multifunctional Board can be used both through the support of the feet, especially when training single-foot balance, and with the hands. In its upside-down position, with the base facing down, the EVA cushion generates a highly gelatinous effect. It is useful for proprioception exercises based on plantar pressure and postural control.
Standing on the EVA Multifunctional Board requires you to adjust your weight continually and maintain your balance to stay upright. It challenges your core strength and balance, strengthens stabilizer muscles, and develops your flexibility and posture. Its surface makes it is easy to stand on. It features a textured non-slip surface for an increased grip.

The unstable bases
Proprioceptive boards, or Freeman boards if you prefer, are the ones that, thanks to a hemisphere applied under the board itself, cause instability. Balance boards are used for both rehabilitation and prevention, practices aimed primarily at athletes, whether amateur or professional. How is proprioception stimulated? Meanwhile, it must be remembered what the action of proprioceptors is, which send messages to the central nervous system to provide feedback information, signaling to the brain the movements the body is making.
Balance Boards are therefore used to recover (or strengthen) the ankle and knee joints, restoring the motor patterns that provide static and dynamic balance. This pattern of neuromotor stimulation is also extremely important in an elderly person, who will be able to improve many muscle and nerve faculties with the use of the board.
Here are a few exercises listed on the basis of difficulty:
- While seated, one foot on the tablet to mobilize the ankle (very easy)
- One foot on the floor and one foot on the tablet to mobilize the ankle (easy)
- Both feet on the tablet to try to maintain balance (medium)
- One foot on the tablet (difficult)
- Two feet on the tablet with eyes closed (very difficult)
- As above with the operator disturbing the subject with small pushes (very difficult)
Obviously the difficulty should be measured on the subject being trained and with respect to where he or she is in the re-education. In case you healthy subject you can use the last three proposals, for prevention and improvement of proprioception.
