What is the purpose of our bodies? The answer is easy: to switch from one chair to another. Think about it carefully; the chair is one of the few true symbols of our time because most of our activities are carried out while sitting. Because of this, we often talk about posture and the numerous aches and muscular, articular, and cervical pain caused by sitting. But what is the correct posture? Even easier to answer: there is not one. There is no correct and stationary posture able to make us feel good sitting for hours on a traditional chair. The traditional chair tends to deform the physiological curves of the spine, but above all, because of the way it is structured (backrest, armrests, rigid seating surface) leads to prolonged immobility. Sitting for hours in the same position, even if the position is theoretically correct, is unhealthy. Our body is made to move. The intervertebral discs, the stabilizing muscles, and all our organs do not adequately work if deprived of movement. The movement implies the activation of all vital functions: cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, muscular. Therefore, the correct way to sit is the one that is both active and dynamic. An ideal sitting position is one where it is possible to move and choose to change position, leading us to develop the fullest awareness of one’s posture.
The Fit Chair, consisting of a mobile base and a Gym Ball, is an effective solution to sit actively and dynamically. The Gym Ball forces continuous adaptations and therefore invites an activation of all postural muscles allowing, also, the discharge of vertebral compressions and the restoration of the physiological curves of the spine. In particular, the possibility to move the pelvis stimulates the natural lumbar lordosis, helping to avoid the harmful and widespread C position.
The base, equipped with wheels, allows moving quickly, near a desk, for example, making the Fit Chair very practical also in terms of a work environment.
